  2.     THE TENNIS BALL TECNNIQUE

  4. The following technique is useful
  5. in the  relief of  minor muscular
  6. pain and  tension:
  7.  
  8. While laying on  your back, place
  9. one tennis  ball on one  side  of
  10. base of  your spine, and  another
  11. ball  on  the  other  side.  Roll
  12. over them  as if  they  were ball
  13. bearings  between  you   and  the
  14. floor. "Roll" them slowly up your
  15. spine while breathing deeply.  Be
  16. sure  to  pause  on  the  tender,
  17. tight spots.

  21. Pay  special  attention   to  the
  22. areas  under the shoulder  blades
  23. (Most people carry  tons of  ten-
  24. sion there.) Continue  up  to the
  25. shoulders. Then push a  ball into
  26. the sore  areas along  the  sides
  27. of the neck - up  to  the   skull
  28. base (give extra attention to the
  29. indentations there). Move ball in
  30. a circle with as much pressure as
  31. comfortable.  Next,  massage  the
  32. sciatic notches by placing a ball
  33. on  both   sides  at  once.  Move
  34. around  to  be certain  to  reach
  35. all tender areas.
